About the Homeownership Preservation Foundation
Founded in 2003, the Homeownership Preservation Foundation is a 501(c) (3) independent, national nonprofit dedicated to reducing foreclosures and preserving homeownership for American homeowners.
Through its Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline, HPF provides a comprehensive foreclosure prevention counseling service available for free to homeowners for in all 50 states and territories, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, in over 160 languages. Since 2003, the Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline has handled 3 million calls and provided counseling to over 820,000 distressed homeowners.

At the Homeownership Preservation Foundation, we strive to develop innovative solutions for preserving homeownership by partnering with consumers, policy makers and the mortgage lending industry. The Homeownership Preservation Foundation is a neutral third-party organization which provides comprehensive foreclosure prevention counseling through a network of HUD-approved counseling agencies to distressed homeowners facing foreclosure.
