- The Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline, 888-995-HOPE™ is a national foreclosure prevention counseling service available free to American homeowners, offered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week 365 days a year, in 160 languages
- Since 2003, the Homeowner’s HOPE Hotline has received more than 3 million calls and has counseled over 820,000 homeowners
- Calls to the Homeowner’s HOPE™ Hotline, 888-995-HOPE™ averaged 135,000 per month for the first four months of 2010 with an average of 6,000 per day. Thus far in 2010, HPF has already provided counseling sessions to 116,500 distressed homeowners.

Beware of Foreclosure Rescue Scams - Help Is Free!
There is never a fee to get assistance or information about Making Home Affordable from your lender or a HUD-approved housing counselor. Beware of any person or organization that asks you to pay a fee in exchange for housing counseling services or modification of a delinquent loan. Do not pay – walk away! Beware of anyone who says they can “save” your home if you sign or transfer over the deed to your house. Do not sign over the deed to your property to any organization or individual unless you are working directly with your mortgage company to forgive your debt. Never make your mortgage payments to anyone other than your mortgage company without their approval.

HUD-approved housing counselors can help you evaluate your income and expenses and understand your options - and - this counseling is FREE.
